In their 2009 release, Cool Yule (Azicca) The Hot Club of San Francisco continued to illustrate why this high-energy, all-acoustic string ensemble remains at the forefront of defining the genre that we now simply refer to as “gypsy jazz.” Led by superb, virtuoso guitarist Paul Mehling, along with an ensemble of highly skilled and versatile musicians, HCSF brings fresh style and flair to a vast repertoire that includes traditional jazz, swing, bebop, blues, bossa nova and original compositions, all presented in the style and instrumentation of Django Reinhardt and Stephané Grappelli’s Hot Club de France.
