Valentine’s Weekend - Two shows of BEATLES music- the matinee will feature ‘Yellow Submarine” and other kids of all ages’ favorites and the 8pm evening show will be a traditional concert of lovely Beatles acoustic songs. Both shows performed on (mostly) acoustic instruments- from the last 7 Beatles albums – Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Pepper’s, Magical Mystery Tour, The “White” Album, Let it Be, and Abbey Road. This represents a period where the Beatles no longer performed live in concert; their sophisticated recordings became their sole focus, and had so many overdubs, edits and complex vocal arrangements that four musicians simply couldn’t perform the songs with 1960’s technology. Doing just that, with at least eight fine musicians has been the mission of the WAE, since 2003.
