SONGFEST for Prostate Cancer Awareness

Joe Ferrara, 8:00 pm

Emcee Joe Ferrara, a seven-year survivor of prostate cancer, will also be performing at the 4th Annual Songfest for Prostate Cancer Awareness. Joe serves as a member of the Santa Cruz County Prostate Cancer Support Group and the California Prostate Cancer Coalition. He regularly performs Fridays at the Shadowbrook Restaurant in Capitola from 6:30 – 10:00 pm and Sundays at The Cats Restaurant and Tavern in Los Gatos. An avid Giants fan, he recently performed the National Anthem for the San Francisco Giants for the 31st consecutive year.

Bill Bortin, 5:00 pm

For the past five years he has been playing in the band, “Cruzin’”, with his friends Scotty Correa-Mickel and Buck Hoelscher on bass guitar and mandolin. Bill is a teacher second grade at Watsonville Charter School of the Arts, where he is able to be involved with a lot of music as part of the academic program.

Steve Kritzer, 5:30 pm

Steve Kritzer is a very talented singer, songwriter and performer who is as comfortable with Celtic, Bluegrass and Country, as with rock, big band swing, and traditional folk. Steve is a mainstage regular at the Fiddlers Green Festival in Ireland, the Bluebird Café in Nashville, Tennessee, the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, and most points in between.

Dale and Marilyn Barcellos, 6:00 pm

Dale and Marilyn song writers and musicians extraordinaire have been entertaining audiences throughout California. Regular performers at the Strawberry Music Festival, they opened for Lyle Lovett this past spring.

The Constellation, 6:30 pm

In February of 2010 Constellation, with members Mark Torrance, Bill McCain, Allen Takahashi and Jordan Johnson, won the Northern California Novice Quartet Championship. A year later, Constellation again became Novice Champions, this time in the North West Division of the Far Western District. In April 2012, Constellation finished in the top four at the Northwest Division annual competition and secured a spot to compete at the Far Western District Competition in Mesa, Arizona. Constellation is living the dream and reaching for the stars!

The Breeze Babes, 7:00 pm

The Breeze Babes are an eclectic mix of danceable rock & popular music from the 60′s to present. The solid rhythm section along with a masterful lead guitarist, support 3 distinctive vocalists who create stunning harmonies. Their song choices, blended with a few original tunes, give them a unique and crowd pleasing sound. They have been performing in the Bay area for about 4 years in all of the most respected clubs that support their genre of music.
