Buskers Showcase returns with three Santa Cruz show stoppers in one blow!
More than a showcase; a blowout which will be hard to top.
Matador, a three piece featuring Dorota on violin, Mathew on guitar and Allen on drums. They have been all over the local- scene for years and go from haunting melodies to hard-hitting rhythms without a moments notice. Mathew’s driving guitar propels the songs and listeners into unique sonic realms. Polish folk and Americana influences flavor their explorations of creation and destruction.
Up and coming Marty O’Reilly is a young man on a bullet train to the rock and roll hall of fame. A long black train like any great bluesman would ride. His complete command of the idiom emerges from the inside out. A virtuoso of slide and Delta blues, his vocal instrument astounds with such faithful evocation of the masters.
Moonshine Jubilee lays down their roots in the old-timey, bluegrass tradition. Formed on the streets of Santa Cruz by long-time rambling singer/songwriter/guitarist S.T. Young and seasoned singer/banjo player Justin Munning, they quickly added clogger Erin Munning on percussive tap, David Kauffman on upright bass and Becky Hendricks on fiddle to deliver a unique, energetic sound with beautiful vocal harmonies that make for a foot-stomping good time.
And if that’s not enough, Richard Stockton of Planet Cruz Comedy will be on board to host the evening. His eclectic blend of insightful humor will make this showcase shine even brighter!
