Santa Cruz NEXT, Cruzio Internet, Civinomics, and Santa Cruz Geeks are joining forces to hold a ice cream social with the Santa Cruz City Council candidates. Come mix and mingle with the candidates over drinks and ice cream on Wednesday, September 19th from 6 to 9 pm at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center. An engaging panel of young entrepreneurs and tech geeks will be asking your questions about issues facing the Santa Cruz community. Ice Cream from the Penny Ice Creamery will be served.

Over the past year, Civinomics has interviewed over 2,500 members of the community about a wide variety of local issues using their unique iPad survey application. On September 5th, they will be privately launching an online community workshop platform, which facilitates civic crowdsourcing and public discussion. They believe there can be improvements in social decision making through the use of better information, increased public engagement, and the collective creativity of communities.
