Monterey Jazz Festival On Tour is a virtual Who’s Who list of today’s top jazz artists. The lineup consists of an all-star group, featuring vocalist extraordinaire Dee Dee Bridgewater, saxophonist Chris Potter, trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, pianist Benny Green, bassist/musical director Christian McBride, and drummer Lewis Nash. Organized in celebration of the Monterey Jazz Festival’s 55th anniversary, MJF On Tour extends the Festival’s tradition of putting together jazz artists from diverse styles. Musical director McBride provides the framework on which these individual talents can forge together an ensemble of mutual creativity. It’s a challenge that brings out the best in these top performers and the audiences love it.
