Unblock your creative energy. Learn to create your own melodic lines while improvising. Cellist Renata Bratt is the current Kuumbwa Jazz Artist-in- Residence. Dr. Bratt will be demonstrating and discussing technique with local musicians and educators, Zack Olsen (drums) and Steve Uccello (bass). Bring your instruments!
Dr. Bratt writes orchestra arrangements and instruction books for Alfred, String Letter Publishing and Mel Bay. She has taught jazz at the International Association for Jazz Education Conference, Kansas MENC, American String Teachers Association, Suzuki Association of the Americas National Conference, the Mark O’Connor Fiddle Conference, New Directions Cello Festival and the Mancini Institute as well as at music camps, workshops and Suzuki Institutes throughout the United States.
