“…[a] six-string daredevil.” – Guitar World

Guitarist Oz Noy is a virtuoso who not only brings rock & blues inspired fireworks to the stage, but a jazz sensibility and astounding musicianship. Together with longtime Allman Brothers Band member Oteil Burbridge and Steely Dan and Sting alum Keith Carlock, they define what is means to be a Power Trio. Expect a night of Noy’s signature guitar sounds as well as his profound love of the music of the Mississippi Delta, as he promotes his newest release, Twisted Blues, Vol. 2.  As a Noy puts it, “I’m a jazz player, but with a blues, rock and R&B background. To me, blues and bebop are the glue to good music.”

Born in Israel, Noy started his professional career at the age of thirteen, playing a broad spectrum of jazz, blues, pop and rock music.  By the time he was sixteen he was playing with many of Israel’s top musicians and by his mid twenties was one of the nation’s top studio guitarists.  Since his arrival in New York in 1996, Noy has made an impact on the local scene and has continued to be a top-call player in the international guitar arena.

Rounding out Noy in this trio is a rhythm section with a heavy rocking and heavy swinging ability.  Burbridge has become a fixture in the jam band circuit, having listed the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Allman Brothers Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit and the Zac Brown Band in his resume (and winning a Grammy in the process).  Mississippi born Carlock is a graduate of the famed jazz program at University of North Texas and has gone on to play with John Mayer, Diana Ross and James Taylor, as well as a longtime stint with Steely Dan and his recent joining Toto.

Noy’s latest release, Twisted Blues, Vol. 2 continues to mine the blues vein first explored in 2001’s Twisted Blues, Vol. 1.  It retains a solid blues base, but expands into all realms of music that the blues has influenced.  As the guitarist aptly puts it, the blues is “…a vocabulary you have to have in order to play” – and play, this trio surely does.
