“…a spirited, youthful charm.” – New York Times
Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodríguez was trained in the rigorous classical conservatories of Havana, beginning at the age of seven. After a chance encounter with legendary impresario Quincy Jones at Switzerland’s Montreaux Jazz Festival, Rodríguez found his way stateside. His latest album, The Invasion Parade, co-produced by the famed producer, explores his memories of Cuba’s people and culture, and features esteemed guests Esperanza Spalding and Pedrito Martinez. Rodríguez is a riveting artist whose music has been shaped both by classic masters such as Bach and Stravinsky, as well as his Cuban and jazz roots.
