“…improvisers plying new genre-less waters…” – San Jose Mercury
Seven-string guitar master Charlie Hunter has been playing with drummer Scott Amendola since the 1990s, when they were two-thirds of the acclaimed jam-band-meets-jazz Charlie Hunter Trio. Following up on their duo release Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead, the two just released Pucker, a lean and sinewy session marked by fierce grooves, caressing melodies, and startlingly intuitive interplay. This type of musical partnership, constantly growing and evolving, is best experienced onstage. This annual December tradition finds old friends on familiar ground, as the guitarist and drummer connect with the Kuumbwa audience to introduce us to a new batch of music.
