“… urbane, on-the-fly… brimming with urgency… – The New York Times
Sound Prints, co-led by Grammy-winning saxophonist/composer Joe Lovano and two-time Grammy-nominated trumpeter/composer Dave Douglas, originally started as a tribute to the music of Wayne Shorter. Conceived out of Lovano and Douglas’s tenure with the SFJAZZ Collective, the quintet soon evolved into a vehicle for the original compositions of its talented members. Together and separately, Lovano and Douglas have won critical-acclaim for their creativity and adaptability over a broad range of musical styles and groundbreaking projects. Equally astounding is their stellar rhythm section comprised of pianist Lawrence Fields; bassist Linda Oh; and drummer Joey Baron.
