“… a prime example of fluency and inventiveness…” – All About Jazz.com
Joshua Redman entered the jazz zeitgeist over twenty years ago as the winner of the 1991 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone competition. Almost immediately, he found himself working with the crème de la crème of the jazz world: Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden, Elvin Jones, and Pat Metheny, among many other top artists. As a bandleader, he has led some of the most intriguing ensembles in contemporary jazz, including his stint as the artistic director for the SFJAZZ Collective. Now, in this pared down trio format with Reuben Rogers, bass and Gregory Hutchinson, drums, Redman freely explores forms of musical expression not found in larger aggregations. His latest recording is Trios Live.
