“…doubly exhilarating…” – Boston Phoenix
Lauded pianist and composer, Omar Sosa, with six previous Grammy nominations to his credit, has established an international reputation for his exciting brand of Afro-Cuban jazz. His dedication to the roots of his music, blended with contemporary harmonic structures and infectious performances, have made Sosa an innovator among his contemporaries. His new group, Afrocubano, continues to explore the musical connections between the African and Cuban worlds. Rounded out by Cubans Ernesto Simpson on drums, Leandro Saint-Hill on saxophone and flute, and Mozambican Childo Thomas on bass, they are a true and aptly named embodiment of this musical tapestry.
