 
Kuumbwa Jazz is the premiere,
intimate venue to host your next community
event. A nonprofit community venue since 1975,
Kuumbwa is available for a variety of public
and private uses:
• Concerts,
performances and public events
• Fundraisers, private parties and receptions
• Rehearsals and live audio recordings
• Workshops and classes
• Theatre space |
CONCERTS
Kuumbwa is available for independent
concert productions.
The cost to rent the facility is $600 Sundays – Thursdays
and $650 Fridays & Saturdays. We require
a $200 refundable security deposit to hold
the date. The deposit acts as default payment
in case of cancellation less than 60 days from
the event, and is returned to you approximately
10 days after your event, if all requirements
of the contract agreement are adhered to. The
rental fee includes the use of our state-of-the-art
sound system, lighting, grand piano and professional
sound engineer. We also provide staff to run
the café and bar. As a renter, you are
responsible for:
- (2) door personnel to oversee ticket
sales, capacity and safety and conduct
of the audience
- Printing and sales of tickets
- Publicity and promotion
- 5% city of Santa Cruz admission tax on
each ticket sold
We assist in publicizing your event in
the following:
- Complimentary listing
on Kuumbwa Jazz website calendar and rotating
listing on Home Page
- Complimentary phone listing
on Kuumbwa Jazz voicemail system.
- Renters may advertise in
weekly Kuumbwa Jazz strip ads in the (3)
local Santa Cruz papers (Good Times, Metro
Santa Cruz, Sentinel) at the rate of $90/week
(rate subject to change)
